Quandoo is shutting down on 30 September 2026. If your restaurant runs its bookings through Quandoo, that date is a hard deadline: your booking widget stops working, your guest list stops being reachable through the portal, and any reservations still sitting in Quandoo need a new home before then.
This is the checklist we give restaurants moving to Tablis. It works whether you move to Tablis or somewhere else — the point is not to lose guests or bookings in the handover.
1. Export your data before the shutdown, not after
Don’t wait for the last week of September. Export two things from Quandoo as early as you can:
- Your guest list — names, contact details, and any notes you’ve built up over time. This is the asset that’s easiest to lose permanently once the portal closes.
- Upcoming reservations — everything already booked past today’s date, so nothing falls through the gap.
If Quandoo’s export doesn’t cover everything you need, ask their support directly and get it in writing. A CSV or spreadsheet export is enough; you don’t need anything fancier.
2. Get a booking link that isn’t tied to a portal
A portal like Quandoo puts itself between you and your guests: the booking widget, the confirmation emails, and the guest relationship all live on their platform. When you move, look for a system where:
- The booking widget can be embedded directly on your own website, not just listed on a marketplace.
- Guests book with you, not through a middleman — no per-cover fee taken out of every reservation.
- You can move your data out again later if you ever need to, without asking permission.
Tablis works this way: one flat monthly price, no per-guest fee, and the booking widget lives on your site from day one.
3. Import guests and reservations before you switch the link over
Bring your exported guest list and reservations into the new system before you point your website and social profiles at the new booking link. That way there’s no window where a guest tries to book and lands somewhere broken. With Tablis, we do this import for you, free of charge, from your Quandoo export.
4. Update every place the old booking link appears
Once the new system is live, go through and update:
- Your website’s “Book a table” button or embed
- Instagram / Facebook booking links
- Google Business Profile booking link
- Any printed materials (menus, table cards) that reference a URL or QR code
A booking link that still points at Quandoo after 30 September is a dead end for guests trying to reach you.
5. Tell your regulars, if it matters to you
Not essential, but worth considering: if you have regulars who book by habit through the old link or app, a short note (email, a sign on the door, an Instagram story) pointing them to the new way to book saves confusion in the first few weeks.
Where Tablis fits in
We built the Quandoo migration path because we saw this deadline coming and didn’t want restaurants scrambling in the last week of September. If you want help with the export/import step specifically, get in touch — it’s free, and most restaurants are fully moved over in an afternoon.
